Waiver Wire Targets Week 14 – Week 13 Fantasy Football Fallout

The waiver list is thinning out as we close the season.  The amount of guys that can theoretically help you is dwindling, but there are still enough players with high enough availability percentages to help you out.

If you’re in a deep keeper league and your record isn’t strong, it’s time to look to the younger players or figure out which backup RBs are playing behind aging RBs or behind players set to leave in free agency.  For example, imagine if Ben Johnson of the Lions takes the Raiders head coaching job.  What would that do for Michael Mayer’s prospects?  Or would they trade Adams and focus in on Jakobi Myers instead next season?

What would happen to Austin Ekeler next year.  Do you think the Chargers would really franchise him again?  Maybe it’s time to roster Josh Kelley and see what happens in free agency and in the draft.

As for 2023, there are a few players that can continue to help you out.  Continue to tweak your bench, especially with up and comers.  Jalin Hyatt could really ascend after the bye week.  He’s worth a stash even if your team is deep.

Top Overall Players Available to most of you:

  • Quarterback:  Matt Stafford, Jordan Love
  • Running Back: Antonio Gibson
  • Wide Receiver: Joshua Palmer, Noah Brown
  • Tight End: Isaiah Likely
  • Defense: New Orleans Saints

Should Be Gone (available between 15-30% of leagues):

Quarterbacks:

  1. Justin Fields
  2. Kyler Murray

Running Backs:

  1. Jerome Ford
  2. Gus Edwards
  3. Dameon Pierce (the Texans consistently give Pierce more touches when he’s healthy even though I still assert Singletary has the better body of work)

Wide Receivers:

  1. Christian Watson (depending on his injury status)
  2. Jakobi Meyers

Tight Ends:

  1. Trey McBride

Defense/Special Teams:

  1. Baltimore Ravens

Could Be Available (available between 31-50% of leagues):

Quarterbacks:

  1. Jordan Love

Running Backs:

  1. AJ Dillon
  2. Chuba Hubbard – great game under the new play caller

Wide Receivers:

  1. Rashee Rice

Tight Ends:

  1. Logan Thomas – I’m not enamored with him, but TE is thinning out.

Defense/Special Teams:

  1. New Orleans Saints – nice matchup this weekend on top of that (vs Panthers)

Probably Available (available between 51% and 70% of leagues):

Quarterbacks:

  1. Matt Stafford

Running Backs:

  1. Antonio Gibson – Robinson should miss a chunk of time with the hamstring injury
  2. Zeke Elliott – depending on how long Stevenson is out
  3. Tyjae Spears – will be a fantastic play if Henry misses another game
  4. Keaton Mitchell – after a bye week, he should be further integrated into the gameplan

Wide Receivers:

  1. Jayden Reed
  2. Noah Brown

Tight Ends:

  1. NA – see lower section

Defense/Special Teams:

  1. Indianapolis Colts – also a nice matchup (vs Bengals)

Sleeper Grabs (available in more than 70% of leagues):

Quarterbacks:

  1. Joe Flacco – I don’t love this pickup, but if you need a QB, he’s the best in this section

Running Backs:

  1. Ty Chandler or D’Onta Foreman (depending on if Foreman is healthy or not)
  2. Chris Rodriguez – Gibson will give some carries to Rodriguez with Brian Robinson Jr. hurt

Wide Receivers:

  1. Joshua Palmer
  2. Jonathan Mingo
  3. Jalin Hyatt
  4. Robert Woods
  5. Dontayvion Wicks
  6. Michael Wilson
  7. Cedric Tillman

Tight Ends

  1. Isaiah Likely – a bye week will have helped him
  2. Tanner Hudson
  3. Zach Ertz – he should sign with a competitive team in need of depth.  May as well pick him up now before he signs.
  4. Michael Mayer
  5. Luke Schoonmaker

Defense/Special Teams:

  1. Green Bay Packers – they are picking up steam
